Too Busy To Stop For Your Child?
Are you too busy, to stop for your child?
Does it feel like life is swarming all around you like a tornado? Cleaning, working, running errands, the call from your friend, the call from your mom, the magazine that came in the mail, the T.V. show that comes on daily? There is only so much time in a day to use and it goes very quickly.
Every Minute Counts or Counts Down,
until it’s time to get our proper rest, but only so that we can begin it all over again tomorrow. Did you stop for your child today, or were you too busy?
Feeling like you never have enough time you begin to procrastinate, putting off the inevitable or what seems to be less important, to take care of the urgent, or more important to you. You do good enough just to get by, mediocrity at its best. Your child is in the background, being dragged around from place to place while you get things done, pushed to the side while cleaning and cooking, left alone with the T.V. when a call comes in or must be made. It’s a never-ending cycle that begins to feel out of control and weighs on your very heart and soul.
Did you stop for your child today, or were you too busy?
You want more meaning out of life, you want life to be more meaningful for your child, but you just don’t know how to escape the grip of poor habits and thought patterns that have formed. Is there a way out? You want your child to feel secure, safe, to have the very best, to have everything they need to grow and mature into a healthy adult. Yet you know, that if you don’t change something your child will not be any different than you and they will struggle as you are now when their children are there watching and being molded and shaped by it all too. Did you stop for your child today, or were you too busy?
You see, it’s not that your child is not being shaped and molded by what you do or don’t do. It’s that they are being shaped and molded by whatever. Whatever is in front of them, whatever has their attention, whatever they are seeing and hearing. Don’t underestimate them, they are watching and listening.
You may have your child’s attention, but the real question is, do they have yours?
Does it matter to you what your child is learning? Does it matter to you how they develop, grow, and mature or if they do at all?
They need you, not anyone else. It means putting aside your agenda or wants or thoughts and taking time out for them. It means changing your habits, replacing them with something better, managing your time better.
No more just going through the motions, but being in the moment with your child every day!
It is time to get aligned and balanced.
If you want to make a difference in your child’s life, and you’re truly serious about it, you will do everything you can to make it happen. Even if that means finding help to accomplish it.
